WOTC Extension

Good news for WOTC and other tax extenders as we close out the year. As part of the spending bill that was signed into law Friday, the WOTC program and other Tax Extenders have officially been granted through the end of next year. In addition to the extension, the spending bill also includes a $2.5 M increase to state WOTC offices for program administration.

Permanent WOTC Bill Also Introduced In The House

As anticipated after the action in the Senate last week, H.R. 2213 was introduced in the House yesterday which calls for the WOTC (Work Opportunity Tax Credit) program to be made permanent. US Senators Introduce Bill To Make WOTC Permanent

Yesterday, Senators Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), and Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) introduced bipartisan legislation to make the WOTC program permanent.  Currently, the program is set to expire at the end of this year.  This bill, the Work Opportunity Tax Credit & Jobs Act,  is a great start for our renewal efforts that we have been

US Government is running again… and so are the expired Tax Extenders (sort of)

The government shut down overnight for a few hours and then reopened once the Senate and House passed their two-year budget agreement and President Trump signed it into law making it official. Expired Tax Extenders Have New Life?

Legislative Update – WOTC Survives!

WOTC survives! In the early morning hours of Saturday, the Senate passed their Tax Reform package by a vote of 51-49.  In the end, only one Republican senator voted no on the package after a lot of deal making that took place throughout the day on Friday.
